Instagram DMs come to the web

You’ll soon be able to slide into someone’s Instagram DMs right from your desktop.

As of Tuesday, Instagram began rolling out direct messages on the web for a small percentage of users, according to The Verge. The rollout is part of a test, Instagram says, and information regarding a broader rollout will come at a later date.

Direct messaging on Instagram’s website will work the same it does through its mobile app. Users will be able to partake in group DMs as well. Direct messaging can be initiated from a user’s profile page or from the dedicated DM page, just as users would on the app. Desktop notifications are also available for DMs if a user enables notifications for Instagram on their web browser. …
