Flight attendants have shared the beauty tricks that help them maintain a flawless complexion, no matter how long haul the journey.
As more and more Brits favour short breaks, we want our beauty routines to be simple but effective (so we can fit all our products in those tiny carry on bags), which is why we were intrigued to find out what the Emirates cabin crew swear by.
The crew’s top three beauty tips for long-haul travel are:
- Pure Coconut Oil
- Pure Aloe Vera Gel
- Rose Water
One way of keeping skin hydrated, according to the Emirates squad, is by getting into the habit of prepping your skin before applying makeup. This allows makeup to stay fresh during travel.
As well as exfoliating to prep your skin pre-makeup, they recommend using a primer and setting the makeup with fix spray.
Another useful tip is to use rose water throughout the day as it’s a great way to keep skin hydrated and soothed.
Don’t sweat it if you snooze on your journey, or feel a little worse for wear at the end of your flight. Just remember hydration is key so drink plenty of water.
An easy way to change a look from day to evening, to deal with differing time zones, is by travelling with a minimalistic, almost natural, look.
Later you can experiment with a more dramatic look by applying a deeper shade of lipstick and eyeliner or mascara.
Emirates told us that their hand luggage essentials include Pawpaw ointment/gel because it doubles up as a lip balm and hand cream. Just think about those long hours without fresh air.
Another tip is to always carry hand sanitiser, a small deodorant and perfume to help freshen up.
