Doneger Adds Footwear to Market Coverage

Doneger is putting the focus on feet.
The Doneger Group has expanded its coverage to include women’s, men’s and children’s footwear, and named Jocelyn Thornton, the former of vice president of women’s product for Sperry at Wolverine Worldwide, to the newly created position of merchandise manager of footwear.
Thornton will work with Patty Leto, senior vice president of merchandising, to develop strategies to address retailers’ footwear merchandising and buying needs.
“This expanded service offering is part of our ongoing strategic objective to provide clients with comprehensive trend and merchandising services,” said Abbey Doneger, president of The Doneger Group, who said of Thornton that “she has the knowledge and experience necessary to support our clients in strategically growing their footwear business.”
Thornton has over 10 years of experience in the footwear and fashion industry. Prior to Wolverine, she was director of product for Clarks.
She said she decided to join Doneger after learning about the “depth” of services the company provides.
Thornton holds a degree in international business from Meredith College.
